Japanese Able To Produce Lab Babies | Japan Attempts To Create Babies In Labs “ Software Testing Sapiens
A report that says that by 2028, Japan could create babies in labs has raised the possibility that another milestone in science and technology may soon be reached. A team of Japanese researchers is developing a method to grow babies in the lab as early as 2028, according to a study that could help treat infertility and other birth defects.
Kyushu University researchers aim to mass-produce eggs and sperm in the lab from normal human cells. In a study published in the journal Nature, the team described a method of transforming skin cells from male mice into pluripotent stem cells.
They can develop into different types of cells or tissues. They grew these cells with a drug that turned the male stem cells into female cells, which produced viable egg cells. These eggs fertilized and produced male mice.

“This study provides insights into correcting infertility caused by sex chromosome or autosomal disorders, and opens up the possibility of bisexual reproduction,” said Kyushu University’s Stem Cell As noted by biologist Professor Katsuhiko Hayashi in his dissertation.
Previously, his team used artificial surrogacy to create baby mice from two male rodents. New In the study, only seven of 630 embryos developed into viable mice. Researchers believe the test could have potential implications for human reproduction.
“It’s a very smart strategy,” Diana Laird, a stem cell and reproductive expert at the University of California, San Francisco, told the New York Post.

Although he was not involved in the research, his opinion is considered important as he is an expert in the field of stem cells and reproduction and knows the technical intricacies of it.
“This is an important step in both stem cell and reproductive biology.” Indeed, this process could theoretically be replicated in humans by injecting embryos formed via pluripotent stem cells into a woman’s uterus.
He estimates that it will take about five years to replicate egg-like cell production in humans, and 10–20 years of testing to make sure this artificial reproductive system is safe to use in clinics.
“Technologically, it’s possible in humans in 10 years,” he was quoted as previously telling the Guardian. “Are they available for breeding? I don’t know about that,” he added. “This is not just a question for the scientific project, but a question for human society as a whole”.
